As part of the SDC project, we will develop and provide a Python based access mode to our archive. Over the last year we have developed a prototype for a such an API in close cooperation with Aperio Software Ltd. (UK) (https://aperiosoftware.com). The goal is to provide an interface that is native to Python, open source and compatible to the widely used sunpy package. We aim to make the user experience as seamless as possible which is why we are always actively encouraging feedback.

As of November 2021, we have a publicly available Jupyter notebook demonstrating use of a prototype API. It can be found at:
